Hydrophobic coatings

Hydrophobic coatings are specialized coatings that create a water-repellent layer on the surface of a vessel, preventing the settling of algae, aquatic vegetation and marine organisms. These coatings reduce the adhesion of aquatic organisms to the hull of the vessel, which significantly reduces the need for frequent cleaning and improves buoyancy. Hydrophobic coatings help reduce friction between the hull of the vessel and the water, which improves its maneuverability and fuel efficiency. Such coatings are widely used on the underwater parts of ships, boats, yachts and other marine objects exposed to constant exposure to sea water.
